CDT is a non-governmental organization which strives to promote democracy in Montenegro – characterized by honest and accountable government, dynamic civil society, and active and informed citizens – through development and fostering of public dialogue, education of political stakeholders, advocacy and monitoring of institutions, processes and policies.

THE ASSEMBLY is the highest body of CDT and consists of all of its members. In its ordinary or extraordinary meetings, which are public, the Assembly adopts the Statute, work and development plan and financial report of the organization. It also appoints members of the Steering Committee and Supervisory Board. Regular Assembly meeting is held once a year (between 1 April and 15 May).

SUPERVISORY BOARD (SB)is a three-member CDT body appointed by the Assembly for a period of two years. The members cannot be employees of the organization or receive any form of financial assistance from CDT. This body supervises the operation and use of the property and finances of CDT, interprets the Statute and monitors its implementation. SB also approves proposed decisions of the Steering Committee about the membership fee amount, and provides its opinion, advice and recommendations relating to the matters of conflict of interest and to establishing the competence of organization’s bodies. Members of this body supervise the execution of decisions of CDT’s bodies.

MANAGING BOARD (MB)is a body of CDT which makes strategic decisions in the organization. Five MB members are responsible for managing operations that ensure effective implementation of CDT’s work and development plan, i.e. successful implementation of activities related to its goals and objectives. Members of MB appointed by the Assembly for a period of two years decide on the establishment of working bodies of the organization. They submit CDT’s work and development plan to the Assembly for adoption, as well as the annual report on work and finances of the organization.

From its establishment CDT has been committed to improving transparency, thus, its work and program activities have been made available to the public. In addition, pursuant to Article 37 of the Law on Non-Governmental Organizations, NGO with income of more than 10,000 euros during a calendar year is obliged to publish its annual financial statement on the website, approved by the competent authority of that organization, within ten days of the adoption of the report. CDT’s initiatives are also presented in journalistic articles which shall include – in addition to the views of our organization – the views of relevant interlocutors in the field of our work. For the majority of articles we will use information obtained by CDT Research Centre and thus develop data journalism, as a new advocacy method for offering solution. In its work, the Editorial Board of CDT will respect the principles prescribed by the Code of Journalists of Montenegro.

Editorial Board will respect the right of readers to freely express their critical opinion on events and persons, in order to develop a culture of public dialogue, but will not allow comments that offend the dignity or contain threats, hate speech, unsubstantiated allegations or racist messages. The portal will not allow publication of contents that offend ethnic, religious, sexual and gender equality. Portal administrators reserve the right to delete comments.
